NWT communities are in need of citizens like yourself who want to contribute and advance their municipal government by providing a clear vision, planned out direction, and effective policies and programs all supported by the required financial and human resources and public infrastructure.

This section of the ‘Elections’ website has been developed to give the public and those elected an understanding of the roles, responsibilities and duties of a Councillor.

Along with the website information we also suggest that as a councillor you look at the governance training available on the School of Community Government’s eLearning website at macalearn.ca.
