  • Gamètı̀ – Chief and six councillors to a four-year term
  • Wekweètı̀ – Chief and four councillors to a four-year term
  • Whatı̀ – Chief and eight councillors to a four-year term

July 21, 2025 Charter Election

  • Fort Good Hope – Chief and councillors to a two-year term

December 8, 2025 Hamlet Elections

  • Aklavik – mayor and half of the councillors to a two-year term
  • Enterprise – mayor and all councillors to a two-year term
  • Fort Providence – half of the councillors to a three-year term
  • Fort McPherson – mayor and half of the councillors to a two-year term
  • Sachs Harbour – mayor and half of the councillors to a two-year term
  • Tuktoyaktuk – half of the councillors to a three-year term
  • Ulukhaktok – mayor and half of the councillors to a two-year term

Please note that Fort Resolution is under public administration, and a date has not been set for their next general election.

Note:

Municipal Elections in the Northwest Territories are conducted in accordance with provisions under the Local Authorities Elections Act. These municipalities have the option of changing the length of their term and following either the Charter Communities Act, the Cities, Towns and Villages Act, the Hamlets Act or the Tłı̨cho Community Government Act.
