Call for Letters of Interest
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) invites letters of interest from residents of the Northwest Territories (NWT) interested in serving on the newly established Plan Review Appeals Board of the NWT.
Plan Review Appeals Board members are appointed under the Fire Prevention Act. Members are responsible for hearing appeals from persons wishing to appeal an order made under the plan review process. The term of appointment to the Board is for three years. As a newly formed board, members will also be initially responsible for developing board guidelines and procedures within the appropriate legislative context.
The Board must include at least one member who is a professional engineer as per the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act; at least one member who is an architect per the Architects Act; at least one member who is registered in a Canadian jurisdiction as a building code professional or equivalent and has experience with the National Building Code of Canada; and not more than two members who are from other professions.
All travel, accommodation, meal expenses, and honoraria are paid for members attending hearings following rates established by the Government of the Northwest Territories.
