Emergency Management Organizations Portal

The Emergency Management Organization (EMO) Portal provides community governments (local authorities) and Local Emergency Management Organizations (Local EMOs) with emergency management information, resources and templates necessary to: form a good understanding of emergency management practices and the NWT emergency management system; build local emergency management capacity; and meet legislated requirements for community governments to develop and review emergency plans annually.

Emergency Management outlines the basic Comprehensive Emergency Management (CEM) structure, and roles and responsibilities of Emergency Management Organizations (EMOs) at the community, regional and territorial level in the Northwest Territories.

 

All community governments in the Northwest Territories are required to have a Community Emergency Plan (CEP) that is updated and practiced annually.  Community Emergency Planning provides tools and templates to assist in the annual planning, review, and validation process.
