Community Fire Protection Handbook
YELLOWKNIFE (June 11, 2008) - The release of the Community Fire Protection Handbook was announced today by the Honourable Michael McLeod, Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA). Delegates attending the Northwest Territories Fire Chiefs Association’s Annual General Meeting in Yellowknife were among the first to receive this valuable resource.
“Local Assistants and Fire Chiefs play an important part in the fire safety of our communities,” said Minister McLeod. “The Community Fire Protection Handbook provides another resource to assist them in this critical function.”
The Community Fire Protection Handbook addresses topics to assist fire officials in making decisions to implement and improve fire services in their community. The Handbook contains fire prevention guidelines and practices as well as the relevant Territorial legislation, regulations and National Fire and Building Codes.
